The breed, German Shepherd Dog, was founded by Max Von Stepanitz to be the ultimate utilitarian canine in the service of man. We are striving to continue that tradition. Our commitment is to bred "people" dogs. We are continually cognizant of the many factors involved in maintaining a solid program and will not waiver from our founding principles. Health is very important and always a consideration. Treu Schaferhaus does not have a dog in the kennel that has required veterinary care other than routine or emergency. We do not breed chronic problems. Each litter is planned to continue this tradition and meet our demanding expectations.
The pedigrees of Treu Schaferhaus are highlighted by many of the special dogs that have proven to be important contributors in the gene pool of this wonderful breed. Treu Schaferhaus was not founded to create wealth, but to maintain, to the best of our ability, the finest aspects of the noblest of "God's Special Creatures", The German Shepherd Dog!
Treu Schaferhaus is not a "show breeder" selling lesser quality rejects as pets. Treu Schaferhaus is not a "working dog" breeder selling lower drive rejects as pets. Treu Schaferhaus is not a "pet" breeder. To repeat that founding commitment - Treu Schaferhaus is breeding "PEOPLE" dogs! The temperament and special characteristics of each puppy are carefully observed during the all important first weeks of life and matched to the desired requirements of prospective adopters. The puppy we are proud to place, with proper nurturing and training, is guaranteed to grow into the German Shepherd Dog that you are proud to own. Treu Schaferhaus puppies are bred to be comfortable in assuming their role and exceeding expectations as members of wonderful families like yours! When you adopt a Treu Schaferhaus puppy you become "family". We are always there for you. While you may become the legal owner, never forget, they are always "ours" for a lifetime.
Constant adherence to these founding principles has allowed our progeny to be "on the job" with police officers, trusted Leader Dogs for the Blind, including participation in Leader Dog's breeding program, AKC and UKC champions, along with obedience and agility titles, participate in tracking and Schutzhund, as well as trained "protection" dogs.
